When Tollywood announced its ambitious visual “epic,” expectations soared. With a massive budget of 250 crores, an impressive cast, and top-tier technicians, the announcement of a two-part story heightened anticipation. As viewers entered the multiplex to experience this grand spectacle, reminiscent of classics like Cleopatra, The Ten Commandments, Spartacus, or Ben-Hur, there was a palpable sense of excitement. However, “BAHUBALI” falls short in several areas, notably the screenplay and narrative. The film opens with Queen Mother Sivagami (Ramyakrishna) trying to protect an infant from soldiers before dying and entrusting the baby to tribal queen Sanga (Rohini). Sanga names the child Sivudu (Prabhas), who grows up with a fascination for a distant mountain peak and a desire to explore what lies beyond it.
